Do you know if the Spamword works fine with Plesk?

I do not see why this would not work when running the Plesk control panel. However that being said you may need to turn off the integration of Spam Assassin.

Here is how:

5. Stop the Plug-in's, you can stop them all together or if you want to determine which one is causing the problems then you can complete these steps for each of the plug-in's below;

Stopping the third party MTA Pick Up Event

Open the properties of the MTA service and disable the feature "Enable Pick Up Event"

Properties of the MTA service are found in the MailEnable Administration Program at;

ME Admin MMC->Servers->Localhost->Agents->MTA Properties (Right Click)->General TAB

Stopping the third party COM object Pick Up Event (Mainly Plesk users)

Open "regedit" and navigate to the following location:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Mail Enable\Mail Enable\Agents\MTA

Change the Key name: Pickup Event Class Enabled - Decimal value is set to "0" for disabled state.

How do I re-enable the Mailenable MTA process?
What do you mean? The settings I supplied above are to disable spam assassin which is supplied by Plesk. The idea is to stop running spam assassin and use Spamword instead.

Both applications are plug ins to the MTA service..

What I'm talking about is that the MTA process is controled by the Plesk Component. See Mailenable Diagnostic info below.

Message Filtering/Antivirus
The following table outlines the status of MailEnable MTA Filtering components.
Test Detail Test Data Test Response Status
MTA Filtering Status MailEnable MTA Filters Enabled Pass
MTA Filter Status MEAVFPI Disabled Pass
MTA Filter Status MEAVFPI6 Disabled Pass
MTA Filter Status MEAVGR7 Disabled Pass
MTA Filter Status MEAVGRI Disabled Pass
MTA Filter Status MEAVMAC Disabled Pass
MTA Filter Status MEAVNAV Disabled Pass
MTA Filter Status MEAVNOR Disabled Pass
MTA Filter Status MEAVPAN Disabled Pass
MTA Filter Status MEAVSOP Disabled Pass
MTA Filter Status MTAFILTER Enabled Pass
MTA COM In-Process Pickup Event pleskmemta.PleskMEMTA Enabled Pass
MTA Pickup Event Disabled Pass

MY question is how do I get the mailenable MTA service back from the Plesk service. There is nothing checked in the tab for pick up event under ME Admin MMC->Servers->Localhost->Agents->MTA Properties (Right Click)->General TAB

Plesk are not controlling anything they are only reading the status of the services from service manager and the MTA plugins from the registry. I see the MTA pick up event is disabled so if you complete the registry change I outlined earlier then the COM pick up event will be disabled also.

Open "regedit" and navigate to the following location:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Mail Enable\Mail Enable\Agents\MTA

Change the Key name: Pickup Event Class Enabled - Decimal value is set to "0" for disabled state.

After this you should be right to configure Spamword,
