Hey folks, we are thinking of switching our anti-spam solution around and I've been considering the 3 products that ME lists as being built with them in mind. We are currently using SpamAssassin but I'd like something a little more easier to use and config.
I'd like to hear feedback from people's experience with the following products:
MagicSpam - http://www.magicspam.com
MEFilter - http://www.mefilter.com
MXScan - http://www.mxuptime.com/
Thanks!

Re: Recommendations for Anti-Spam
Of the 3 products listed only MxScan and MEfilter is designed primarily for MailEnable. Both MxScan and MEFilter is designed as a MTA Event filter while MagicSpam works as a SMTP proxy.
Coincidentally MxScan also includes (built-in) the Windows build of SpamAssasin that works as one of the Multi-Layered filters. We are currently running SpamD version 3.25 but lately have been testing it with ver 3.31 of SpamAssassin which should be released once proven stable.
Personally i would advice that you try all 3 products and see which one best fits your requirements. There are lite/trial version of each product which you can try at no cost.
Cheers

Re: Recommendations for Anti-Spam
After several months of using MxScan, we've been happily thrilled. It was fairly easy to setup and maintain and our spam has dropped down to almost nothing. I never get complaints anymore (not saying it is perfect, it is just so rare to get a piece of spam that people don't complain). My company went ahead and bought he full version and the message sniffer addon since we are moving forward and hosting several client's mail domains and acting as a smart host for others.

We use eWall 4.0 with Message Sniffer for past 6 months, and I'd say, it's a piece of cake. ZERO maintenance, ZERO false positives, only few spams slip through from 100K+ daily mails. And not to mention the fact that the app has a funny look
