Quota Notification Message

Post by dennis »

One of my mailboxes has exceeded its quota; and is receiving around 60 pages of quota everyday. Is there anyway to disable the quota notification message from sending to this mailbox?
Thanks.

Hi,

Open up the postoffice connector properties window and under the option "Notifications when quota is reached" you will see the various options that you can set. Set it to "Notify Sender only".

Hi,

I have already set it to "No notifications".
Yet, I still receive a brief email from postmaster stating
"Your Mailbox has exceeded its quota and a message from [SMTP:xxx@xxx.com] was rejected. Please clean your mailbox and ask the user to re-send."

Regards,
Dennis

Hi,

Did you restart the postoffice connector after changing the setting?

Hi,

Thanks. Solve it finally.
Yet, I would like to ask another question.

Is it possible to notify the postmaster account instead of the mailbox owner with the quota notification message (not the original mail)?

Regards,
Dennis

No, this is not possible.

Is it possible to specify what account is notified? I would prefer if the postmaster of the entire server was notified so he may call the user and discuss.

Actually looking at this further, usage notifications should be per mailbox, not just postoffice. The mailbox usage notifications should be based on a designated percentage of assigned Mailbox Quota. When the percentage is reached it should have the options to notify the mailbox, the postmaster of the postoffice, or system admin.
