Smart Host

Post by obsidian.networks »

Hi, I am trying to setup a smart host for a domain so that mailenable can just act as a backup server for another mailenable server.

The issue that I am having is that when email is received it is being rejected with the followinig error;

This mail server requires authentication when attempting to send to a non-local email address.

The Relay options are all configured correctly I think. I have tried with both enabled and diabled for Allow relay for authenticated senders and I get the same issues.

Could someone please help me to get this delivering emails?

Thanks,
peter

Hi,

What is the full error code? If a 551 then you need to disable "Address Spoofing" under the SMTP security options or set it to "Authorized connections can spoof the sender addresses" and add the incoming IP address to the SMTP relay option for "Allow relay for privileged IP ranges".
