Windows Server 2016 Beta 4.

Post by asbridgem »

I have been playing with server 2016 and MailEnable standard but it seams to have an issue installing the Web Mail.

Has anyone else tried this yet?

When I run the setup it finishes without any errors but if I open up the MailEnable console and click on WebMail I get this error;

System.Exception: No web servers are installed.
at MailEnable.Administration.Web.Servers.WebServerManagement.GetManagerFactory()
at MailEnable.Administration.Console.modIISLibrary.GetWebServerManagerFactory()
at MailEnable.Administration.Console.WebSiteBindingsListView.PopulateImplementation()
at MailEnable.Administration.Console.AsyncFormView.Populate()

I have enabled all IIS roles and features and even loaded then via Powershell to check that I didnt miss anything.

I have been able to get it to work by manual adding an "New Application" in the IIS manager and pointing it at the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mail Enable\Bin\NETWebMail" folder and I can access it.

It installs with out any problems but when you open the MailEnable console and click on WebMail it give this error;

System.Exception: No web servers are installed.
at MailEnable.Administration.Web.Servers.WebServerManagement.GetManagerFactory()
at MailEnable.Administration.Console.modIISLibrary.GetWebServerManagerFactory()
at MailEnable.Administration.Console.WebSiteBindingsListView.PopulateImplementation()
at MailEnable.Administration.Console.AsyncFormView.Populate()

I have installed all IIS roles and features and check them in Powerhell to make sure all IIS 6 compatibility is enabled.

I can manual add a "New application" in IIS manager and point it at "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mail Enable\Bin\NETWebMail" folder and I can now access web mail.

Hi,

did you find a reason or a solution for this Problem?
I moved with mailenable to a Windows Server 2016 with exactly the same symptoms.

Trying to access webmail or webmailadmin in the Desktop-Administratio-program:
System.Exception: No web servers are installed.
bei MailEnable.Administration.Web.Servers.WebServerManagement.GetManagerFactory()
bei MailEnable.Administration.Console.modIISLibrary.GetWebServerManagerFactory()
bei MailEnable.Administration.Console.WebSiteBindingsListView.PopulateImplementation()
bei MailEnable.Administration.Console.AsyncFormView.Populate()

Trying to launch the Active Sync Wizzard:
Informationen über das Aufrufen von JIT-Debuggen
anstelle dieses Dialogfelds finden Sie am Ende dieser Meldung.

bei MailEnable.Administration.ActiveSync.ConfigurationWizard.EnvironmentPrerequisitesVerification.VerifyPrerequisites()

hi asbridgem and chris-berlin,

Do you solve this issue. I have exactly same problem at Windows 2016. When i click to webmail it gives System.Exception: No web servers are installed. error.

And also if i click to Configure Sites MMC crashes and close it self.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

What version of MailEnable Standard? If older than 9.x then you will have issues installing webmail from the admin console and during the install process. Therefore upgrade to version 9.74 if you haven't already done so.

Hi Ian,
Thank you for your reply.
I'm using 8.xx becaus I have a professional lisense for this version.

@asbridgem: As a work around created the applications in IIS by pointing to the program directory of mailenable
C:\Program Files (x86)\Mail Enable\Bin\NetWebMail
and C:\Program Files (x86)\Mail Enable\Bin\NetWebAdmin

But everytime I click the wrong node in the administration tool of mailenable the appliation crashes.

Version 8.x administration console will have issues when adding web mail and web admin to IIS on a Windows 2016 platform. Your option to address the problem is to upgrade to version 9. There maybe an updated version 8.x version but there is no time frame for a release at this stage.
