in which format are mailboxes?

Post by labsy »

Which format does mailEnable use to store mails in mailboxes? I see thare is a separate file with name by ID for each mail in user's mailbox.

I want to migrate my user's mailboxes from Linux MBOX format to myilEnable, so I needto know which format to convert to. Might it be DBMAIL format?

...and one more thing:
that filenames in "Inbox" folder, for example:

3648652CA93B4390BACF2D99B22C3D.MAI

Are these names RANDOMLY generated, or is this some kind of checksum?

If this is RANDOM, I could then simply migrate mailboxes from other known formats. :)

seems I am talking to myself...

...and I found sollution how to migrate mail from Linux server to my new Windows with mailEnable mailserver.
If anybody is interested into details (btw...using this method you may migrate from ANY* mailserver to ANY* mailbox!), please, let me know and I'll explain.

Well, I believe the filename is generated using a GUID and removing the dash.
