SMTP Properties - Maximum Message Size = 0 = Terror

Post by einarsen »

Hi everyone,

We set our Maximum Message Size to "0" (zero) on our mail server and immediately noticed that many servers were not sending us emails. According to the RFC 1870 and the Mail Enable documentation that *should* work, however I'm wondering if the data is formatted incorrectly.

I notice that there is a fix for the Standard version:
Thanks for pointing out this bug. The bug has been fixed in the new 1.73 release which can be found at this location - http://www.mailenable.com/product/std/STD-173-RC3.EXE
Regards,
Is there a fix for the Professional version? We're running 1.18 and the release notes for 1.19 don't talk about this issue.

Thanks,
Brad Einarsen

Hi,
I dont know when it was fixed but I am running 1.19c current verison on the web site and have message size set to 0 and it is working, so could be worth an upgrade.

Maximum Message Size

This was supposed to be fixed in Pro 1.18 but there was a problem and a hotfix was issued that corrected the problem but caused others. Pro 1.19 works correctly with a size of 0.
