Incorrectly reported mailbox sizes...

Post by webequipped »

I have a problem with ME reporting mailboxes incorrectly. This is causing client to receive quota messages when infact their mailboxes have NO mail what so ever. I even checked the sent mail and deleted mail folders.

What makes matters worse is that the web based administration shows the correct size, however, in the MMC the size is "bloated".

My only work-around has been to delete the users mailbox and recreate it.

Is anyone else seeing this issue? I need to get this fixed ASAP.

Thanks - Johan

Have you reported this to the ME support team?

I'm haveing similar reporting problem.
Messages are being bounced with this error:
message size 11769905 exceeds size limit 5120000 of server...
And there is not limit configured, neither for each of the Mailboxes, nor SMTP Connector (which surely doesn't matter for the boincing error message).

Any help is welcome, TIA.

The calculation of the mailbox is on all mail on all folders even folders created by users.

The best way to verify this would be by checking the folder for the mailbox in the following location, this should report the same as the ME Admin MMC.

Mail Enable\Postoffices\[postoffice]\MAILROOT\[mailbox]

If you get the properties of this the "Size" should match.

Erroneous Quota Exceeded messages

Post by mf_scott »

I am having this problem too. I checked the folder size, and it was exactly what was being reported in the MMC - around 29KB, while their quota was set to 50000KB. The deleted items folder had been emptied, etc., so the mailbox was truly only using around 29KB. I turned the quota off, hit ok, edited the mailbox again and turned the quota back on and it seems to be working now. Any suggestions on why this occurred or how to avoid it in the future?

It could be worth upgrading to version 1.7 at the following link as there was a fix in the IMAP that may help;

http://www.mailenable.com/mailenableprof.exe

Let me know how you go.

Thanks - I will upgrade to 1.7, as we were still on 1.6, but we're not using the IMAP service at all - it's turned off and the service is disabled.
