New "Report as Spam" menu option

Post by mikebol »

Could anyone tell me what this menu option does? I've just noticed it in ME EE 2.12 today.

I had a play and it seems that it puts the email into the Junk mail folder.
What it does from there I don't know, but I guess you could then pick that up in the bayasian filter dictionary building.

Interesting, I don't have junk mail folders setup for users. It appears to have just deleted the message in my case. I'm not sure I like that type of behavior.

I'd love to have the option to send the email marked as spam to a file folder or mailbox. This would help me greatly with building my bayesian dictionary.

:D

Hi guys,
This is a case of ooops, it was left in by error not completely finished as yet.

Here is a registry key that will control it for you;

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Mail Enable\Mail Enable\Services\WEBMAIL\Options::MessageReportAsSpam

Values follow (the default option is 1):

0. Disabled (popup menu option is not visible within webmail.
1. The message is moved to the following location (the folder is created if it does not exist): [PostofficeRoot]\MAILROOT\SPAM\Reported\[MessageID]
3. The message is copied to a SpamRoot Folder (Spam Directory registry key is read from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Mail Enable\Mail Enable::Spam Directory)
4. The message is deleted

Good luck, none of these options have been tested yet so use with caution and test well prior. I would say that they should be finalised in version 2.14 I just got these keys straight from a developer and would not put my 100% trust in them yet. If you are not sure then use the disable option.

How about also having a 'Not spam' option for any message incorrectly flagged as Junk E-mail and copied to the junk folder?

To aid disk I/O it would help if the rule only applied to message with a <1MB file size.

Any idea when this will be added?

Was this removed from the latest version? I edited the registry entry from 0 to 1, and don't see an option to report as spam.

Even after stopping/starting all services.

There is a new utility here;

http://www.mailenable.com/beta/memas.zip

Just do not use the IP banning option. The move and the copy and to enable and disable the feature all work OK.

This was accidently put in so is unsupported.

Ben, any chance of having a 'Not Spam' option? To copy messages from user Junk E-mail folder to their Inbox and to a server-wide Ham folder?
