Redirection + Spam

Post by whgpjay »

I have about 100 domain on my server, and I noticed a ton of rejected messages in the SMTP outbound queue. I looked into further & found that some of my users have redirection turned on, and MailEnable is trying to forward their spam to the same address, even though the MTA filters marked the messages as spam.

Please add an option to not redirect messages that are marked as spam, but instead to deliver those to the user's Junk E-mail folder.

I don't want to inconvenience my users by disabling redirection completely, but I don't want my IP to get blocked either.

I had the same question. You can find an answer from Ben there:

The thing is that we have a lot of domains on this server, and users can change their redirection at any time, so it would be impractical to keep reconfiguring the filter. There really has to be a way in MailEnable to not redirect messages marked as spam.

That thread above has been updated to include two new registry keys in case you have not noticed.
