"Access is denied"

Post by tkendall »

Hello, I've moved my website from a Windows 2003 server (that was using Matrix SMTP) to a Windows 2008 server with mailenable smtp. The site uses smtp to send (not receive) email. When I run the sending of the email from the new site location, I get an "Access is denied" message. Is there something I need to set to get the emailing going?

Check you smtp setting to see who is allowed to send email.
Common mistakes

not enabled password on smtp send for the client
On smtp settings at the server end you are not a valid sender

BTW this is not a developers questions
