SUMMARY
How to customise the welcome message for SMTP and POP.
DETAIL
Version 1.613 and later of MailEnable Standard allow
the customising of the welcome messages for both POP and SMTP services. This
modification needs to be done through the registry, by the addition of the
following registry keys:
For
POP
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Mail Enable\Mail
Enable\Services\POP]
"Scramble Welcome Enabled"=dword:00000002
"Welcome
Message"="Welcome to ME POP3 Server"
For
SMTP
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Mail Enable\Mail
Enable\Connectors\SMTP]
"Welcome Message"="%LOCALDOMAIN% ESMTP ready at
%TIME%"
"Scramble Welcome Enabled"=dword:00000002
For the
SMTP Welcome Message key, use the variables %LOCALDOMAIN% and
%TIME%, which are substituted with the local domain name and
the time when there is a connection.
Note: MailEnable Professional and Enterprise Editions can customise welcome messages through the MailEnable Administration Program.
