Invalid PATH Environment Variable error reported in diagnostic utility

MailEnable's Diagnostic Utility may report the following error:

Invalid - Please ensure the MailEnable BIN directory is in your PATH statement

Incorrect path for MailEnable BIN folder.

To resolve this issue, please follow these steps:

  • Go to Start > Programs > Administrative Tools > Computer Management
  • The Computer Management applet should now be loaded.
  • Right click on Computer Management (Local) and select Properties.
  • Then click on the Advanced tab. Click on the Environment Variables button.
  • In the System Variables list, scroll down until you find the "Path" environment variable, then highlight it and click Edit.
  • The Path environment variable should contain a semi-colon delimited list of directory names.
  • Ensure that that the short path (8.3) equivalent of C:\Program Files\Mail Enable\Bin or its equivalent (depending on the installation path appears in this list).
  • Accept all changes and close the Computer Management Applet.

Note: In some circumstances the Diagnostic Utility may misreport this warning (i.e. versions 1.1 of Enterprise Edition and 1.7 of Professional Edition), however it is advisable to always confirm that the PATH Statement is correct.
