Diagnostic Report states "Invalid system entries" for Address Map Validity

SYMPTOMS

Diagnostic Report states "Invalid system entries" for Address Map Validity.

CAUSE

This error indicates that the ADDRESS-MAP may be corrupted or is missing critical system entries. The entries may be missing if the ADDRESS-MAP.TAB file has been manually edited or if file corruption has occurred. If the default Tab Delimited Files configuration is being used, these entries will be missing from the ADDRESS-MAP.TAB file located under the Config Directory. The format of the ADDRESS-MAP.TAB file is described in the System Manual (under the MailEnable Program Group). If Enterprise Edition is being used with a database configuration then the entries may be missing from the ADDRESS_MAP table of the MailEnable database.

RESOLUTION

This file is located in: C:\Program\Files\Mail Enable\Config (assuming a default installation).

Open the ADDRESS-MAP.TAB file in Notepad and ensure that it contains the following entries at the top of the file:

[SMTP:*] TAB TAB 0 TAB System CRLF

Note: The formatting extract above represents Carriage Return Line Feed and the TAB characters as CRLF and TAB respectively. TAB is the result of pressing the TAB key on the keyboard and CRLF is the equivalent of pressing the Enter key.

The format of this file is explained in System Guide under the MailEnable folder. These entries should not have been removed and therefore it may be possible that the address map is corrupt. If a backup of the Address-Map.Tab exists, compare it against the one in the CONFIG directory.
