When trying to manually create COM+ Applications, the error "The user account or password entered is invalid" occurs.

CAUSE

If attempting to manually create the "Mail Enable" and "Mail Enable Administration" packages and the error "The user account or password entered is invalid" occurs then the password for the Windows user being used (usually IME_ADMIN) is incorrect.

RESOLUTION

Make sure that the account being used has the rights necessary to run COM+ packages, and if the user is a domain user, then the domain prefix is used for the username.
