SYMPTOMS
Prompted for Windows credentials when accessing web mail or web admin.
CAUSE
If prompted for Windows credentials before accessing
the web mail or web admin login screen, the IIS security settings
for MailEnable are most likely invalid. A "403 Forbidden" error may be presented by
IIS.
This may happen under one of the following circumstances:
1.
The password for the IME_USER account was reset
2. The
password for the IME_USERaccount has expired or has been locked out
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, first attempt to use the MEInstaller.exe application to reconfigure web mail and/or web admin support. This utility can be found in the C:\Program Files\Mail Enable\Bin directory.
Here is some further information on the MEInstaller utility:

When using the MEInstaller
application to reconfigure/re-install web mail/web admin libraries, it
will prompt for a password. Ensure that the same password is used when configuring
web mail as used when selecting an option to configure web
admin.
