Only some messages are showing in the web mail inbox when using version 1 of MailEnable

SYMPTOMS

Not all messages appear in the web mail message list when using version one of MailEnable.

CAUSE

MailEnable enforces a limit of 1000 items in a folder. This is to conserve CPU resources when scanning and displaying folders.

RESOLUTION

Increase this limit using the following registry key.

Note: this could affect performance of the mail server.

Key Name: SOFTWARE\Mail Enable\Mail Enable\Services\webmail\Options
Value Name: Max Message List Length
Value Type: DWORD
Value Setting: Numeric - maximum number of messages allowed in a single folder

The setting above should be set to the maximum amount of messages that can be displayed (i.e. to display a maximum of 2000 messages, set this value to 2000). If the registry setting above is set below 10, then the maximum amount of messages that will be displayed is 1000.
