Open relay tests should be considered as indicative only. MailEnable may appear to relay messages under some tests, but in fact will not relay the message. This will vary depending on what tests are being applied to the server, as most open relay tests are not end-to-end tests.

This test takes into consideration the way that MailEnable validates relay requests.

If the server has relayed a request, the SMTP Debug log will show how messages are being granted access for relay i.e. whether relay requests are being granted because the user has authenticated or is within a privileged IP Address range.
