SUMMARY
Blank message files that sit in the MailEnable queues or get delivered to an end user may be caused by the means detailed below.
DETAIL
Blank or zero file sized
MAI files can be created in the MailEnable outgoing queues by the delivery of
a message between MailEnable connectors by the MailEnable Transfer
Agent (MTA). If zero byte sized messages are appearing in the MailEnable queues, the
issue usually points to a real time antivirus agent preventing the messages from
being written to the disk.
If real time antivirus
is running, then it is imperative that the MailEnable queues are restricted from
protection or the resident scanner is disabled.
Another way the
blank files could be created is by an MTA Pickup Event. Ensure that the same
issue is occurring without a pickup event running in the MTA to troubleshoot any
blank messages being created.
