Beta versions of folder indexing may cause inconsistent message lists in web mail

SYMPTOMS

Beta versions of folder indexing may cause inconsistent message lists in web mail

CAUSE

Early beta versions of the Folder Indexing Library (as formerly published on the MailEnable beta site) may cause issues when you upgrade to later versions of MailEnable. This is potentially because the registry settings used by the release and those installed with the beta can conflict and cause inconsistent behaviour.

RESOLUTION

The solution is to remove folder indexing. Folder indexing was removed from the beta web site and was not released for production and therefore should be removed/deactivated.  Future versions/updates will be released that will allow the indexing to be re-activated.

To remove folder indexing, remove (or set the values to zero) for the Indexing keys mentioned in this article  http://www.mailenable.com/kb/content/article.asp?ID=ME020224  as well as the following keys:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Mail Enable\Mail Enable\Connectors\SF]
"Index Files Enabled"=dword:00000000
"Indexing Enabled"=dword:00000000

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Mail Enable\Mail Enable\Services\IMAP]
"Index Files Enabled"=dword:00000000
