SYMPTOMS

When downloading attachments from email messages in web mail a file called "Getattachments" is downloaded instead of the requested attachment.  The Application Event Log will show the following error:

Error: File /mewebmail/base/default/lang/EN/getcontent.asp Line 10 OnStartPage Failed. An error occurred in the OnStartPage method of an external object.

CAUSE

This error indicates that the ASP .DLL is not correctly registered in the servers registry.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this, open a command prompt and enter:regsvr32 %windir%\system32\inetsrv\asp.dll
