SYMPTOMS
Permissions error for web mail with Windows 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1)
CAUSE
When Service Pack 1 is installed for Windows 2003, it could affect MailEnable web mail and web administration and a permissions error is displayed when these sites are accessed.
RESOLUTION
To resolve the problem follow the instructions below:
1) Open the Component Services control panel applet from the Administrative
Tools control panel folder/menu.
2)
Expand the Component Services >
Computers branch
3) Right click on the My Computer icon and
select Properties from the popup menu
4) Select the COM Security tab
5)
Under the Launch and Activation Permissions heading, select the Edit Limits
button
6) Add the IME_USER and give it Local Launch and Local Activation
permissions
