Messages not getting delivered to the Junk-Email folder

The filter action to "Mark as spam" has been configured but mail that meets the criteria is not being delivered to the Junk E-mail folder.

Messages marked as spam are not being delivered to the Junk E-mail folder. This can occur for any of the following reasons.

  • If the option to " Deliver junk email to Junk E-mail folder" is not enabled under the "Feature Selection" tab under the "Post Office" Properties window. (Enterprise edition only)
  • Headers are not getting marked with "X-ME-Content: Deliver-To=Junk"
  • Junk E-Mail folder is not being created when the filter executes.
  • "Junk E-Mail Processing" option under Servers > localhost > Extensions properties window is set to "Messages are moved Inbox".

Ensure the option to deliver messages with a header value marked as spam is enabled. This option can be found under the "Post Office" properties window within the "Feature Selection" tab.

If the message is still received in the inbox, check if the filter is working correctly by checking the messages header values. The criteria to "Mark as spam" should add the following line in the header details of the message. An example of the header value needed for Junk E-Mail delivery is:

Example header line:

X-ME-Content: Deliver-To=Junk

Example message headers:

Message-ID: <006301c1c8c6$d086f5b0$>
From: "MailEnable Administrator" <Postmaster>
To: "Mail User" <>
Subject: New E-Mail Account Notification
MIME-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: multipart/related;
X-Priority: 3
X-MSMail-Priority: Normal
X-Mailer: MailEnable Server
X-MimeOLE: Produced By MailEnable MimeOLE V1.0.0.0
X-ME-Content: Deliver-To=Junk

Also check if the folder is being created by checking the folders path of the mailbox the message was sent to.
