SYMPTOMS
Web mail returns the error (-2147221005) 006~ASP 0177~Server.CreateObject Failed~800401f3
CAUSE
This problem may occur if the webppliance_siteadmins user (associated with Ensim) has been explicitly denied access to the Program Files\Mail Enable folder (and all of its children).
When MailEnable is installed, it adds the IME_ADMIN into the "Users" group. On some installations, it seems that Ensim makes "Users" as a member of their webppliance_siteadmins and then denies access to this group to the MailEnable folders mentioned above.
This creates an issue because the IME_ADMIN account will no longer have access to the files and resources that are needed by web mail.
RESOLUTION
The solution is to ensure that Ensim's webppliance_siteadmins is not denied access to the Program Files\Mail Enable folder (and sub folders).
This is done as follows:
1. Use Explorer to browse to the Program Files\Mail
Enable folder.
2. Right click on the folder and select Properties.
3. Select the Security tab.
4. Highlight the webppliance_siteadmins
and then click remove
