SYMPTOMS

When opening configuration screen such as mailbox properties in the MailEnable Administration Program the error  "Views_CreatePropertyPages: Snap-in designer runtime error: 0x800A0153".

RESOLUTION

This error can occur when a file required by the administration program is installed into the user directory instead of the Windows System32 directory.

If the file cannot be located in C:\Windows\System32, then check the following directory for the file "comdlg32.ocx" (assuming you logged in as Administrator): C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Windows

This file should be installed into the C:\Windows\System32 directory (or where the system32 directory is). Once the file has been copied to the correct location, run "regsvr32". The procedure is explained below:

1. Open a command prompt

2. Type the following: Regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\comdlg32.ocx

3. Close the admin program (if it was open), and then try to run it again.
