How to configure an Apple iPhone/iPad to synchronize contacts using CardDAV

This article explains how to configure the iPhone/iPad to synchronize contacts via CardDAV.

DETAIL

CardDAV account information:

  • Navigate on the iPhone device to: Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars
  • Next select within the accounts section select "Add Account" and select "Other"
  • Within the "Contacts" section select "Add CardDAV account"
  • Server: example.com
  • User Name: mailboxname@postofficename
  • Password: ******


Advanced Settings:

  • Use SSL: Off
  • Port: 8080 (or the port number that MailEnable HTTPMail service is running on)
  • Account URL: http://example.com:8080/contacts
