SYMPTOMS
If using a NAS for storing MailEnable configuration and email data, and the NAS does not support creation dates for files, IMAP client may download message indexes on each index update, or flag changes may be lost.
CAUSE
Some MailEnable features rely on the creation date of files and indexes.
RESOLUTION
A "timestamp" file can be used to handle the creation date when needed. To enable the feature to use the timestamp file, you will need to create a registry key under the IMAP branch (1 is use the timestamp file, 0 or the key missing means it won't be used):
For 32bit Windows:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Mail Enable\Mail
Enable\Services\IMAP]
"Timestamp file"=dword:00000001
For 64bit Windows:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Mail
Enable\Mail Enable\Services\IMAP]
"Timestamp
file"=dword:00000001
You will need to restart the MailEnable services whenever you
change the registry key.
