SYMPTOMS
When starting the Management service, it crashes, but only when the Log Archive Agent is enabled.
CAUSE
MailEnable uses Microsoft Cabinet files when archiving log files. When archiving, the cabinet compression functions need to write out temporary files to the root drive. If the Management service is running under a Windows account which does not have permissions to read/write to the root drive, then the service will fail.
RESOLUTION
Run the service under the Local System account, or give the required permissions to the account the service is running under.
