How to enable higher debug log level for MailEnable services.


SUMMARY

There are various options that services perform which are not logged within the services debug log file therefore this article explains how to enable higher debug log level for various MailEnable services, agents and connectors.

DETAIL

Debug log level for the MailEnable SMTP connector:
  1. Open Microsoft Windows "regedit".
  2. Navigate to the following MailEnable registry branch:

32bit Windows: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Mail Enable\Mail Enable\Connectors\SMTP

64bit Windows: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Mail Enable\Mail Enable\Connectors\SMTP

  1. Create a new DWORD key named: Debug Logging Level
  2. Set the decimal value to: 10
  3. Close "regedit"
  4. Restart the SMTP connector
Debug log level for the MailEnable POP service:
  1. Open Microsoft Windows "regedit".
  2. Navigate to the following MailEnable registry branch:

32bit Windows: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Mail Enable\Mail Enable\Services\POP

64bit Windows: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Mail Enable\Mail Enable\Services\POP

  1. Create a new DWORD key named: Debug logging level
  2. Set the decimal value to: 10
  3. Close "regedit"
  4. Restart the POP service
Debug log level for the MailEnable IMAP service:
  1. Open Microsoft Windows "regedit".
  2. Navigate to the following MailEnable registry branch:

  4. Restart the IMAP service
Traffic Logging for MailEnable IMAP service:
  1. Open Microsoft Windows "regedit".
  2. Navigate to the following MailEnable registry branch:

  2. Set the value to: 1
  3. Close "regedit"
  4. Restart the IMAP service
Debug log level for the MailEnable Synchronization (HTTPMail) service:
  1. Open Microsoft Windows "regedit".
  2. Navigate to the following MailEnable registry branch:

  2. Set the decimal value to: 10
  3. Close "regedit"
  4. Restart the Synchronization service

  4. Restart the Postoffice connector

  4. Restart the MTA
Debug log level for the MailEnable Management service:
  1. Open Microsoft Windows "regedit".
  2. Navigate to the following MailEnable registry branch:

  1. Create a new DWORD key named: Debug logging level
  2. Set the decimal value to: 10
  3. Close "regedit"
  4. Restart the Management service
Debug log level for the Store component:
  1. Open Microsoft Windows "regedit".
  2. Navigate to the following MailEnable registry branch:

64bit Windows: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Mail Enable\Mail Enable\

  1. Create a new DWORD key named: Store Debug Logging Level
  2. Set the decimal value to: 10
  3. Close "regedit"
  4. Restart the MailEnable services
  5. Log information regarind store problems will be written to the Windows Application Log, accessible from the Windows Event Viewer. You should only enable this when directed to by support staff.
Debug log level for the migration service:
  1. Open Microsoft Windows "regedit".
  2. Navigate to the following MailEnable registry branch:

32bit Windows: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Mail Enable\Mail Enable\Agents\Migration

64bit Windows: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Mail Enable\Mail Enable\Agents\Migration

  1. Create a new DWORD key named: Debug Logging Level
  2. Set the decimal value to: 10
  3. Close "regedit"
  4. Restart the Migration service
