Microsoft Security Update for Outlook 2013 (KB3172519) prevents Reply All

SYMPTOMS

Outlook "Reply All" function displays "You don't have the appropriate permission to perform this operation." on Outlook 2013.

CAUSE

Microsoft Security Update for Outlook 2013 (KB3172519) introduces this misbehaviour.

RESOLUTION

MailEnable is investigating this behaviour and are attempting to establish why the security update prevents Reply-All functionality.

WORKAROUND

Remove the security update KB3172519 from the machine running Outlook 2013

MORE INFORMATION

The issue only seems to occur when using the MailEnable Connector for Microsoft Outlook in an Outlook 2013 profile that has initially been configured with the connector as the default message store. Adding a MailEnable store to a profile that initially included IMAP as the default store does not exhibit the misbehaviour.

This article will be updated once the effect(s) of installing KB3172519 are further investigated.
