Outlook 2016 and Outlook 365 clients do not autodiscover ActiveSync.


SUMMARY

The latest versions of Microsoft Outlook 365 and Outlook 2016 no longer autodiscover ActiveSync services. It may work in some earlier versions of Outlook 2016. The work around here is to manually configure EAS accounts for Outlook 2016 and Outlook 365 client machines.

DETAIL

Microsoft changed the account creation wizard in Outlook 2016/Outlook 365 that prevents you from selecting third party EAS servers when creating an account. To workaround this change you need to revert to the old Outlook creation wizard which will list the option to select third party EAS servers and the transport method.
