When sending messages via the MailEnable Connector for Outlook, messages are not copied to the mailboxes "Sent Items" folder.
The default method used by the connector to copy messages to the mailboxes "Sent Items" folder is to issue a custom SMTP DATA command named MESAVETOSENT. When routing your connections to the MailEnable server via a proxy/firewall, the custom SMTP command can sometimes trigger the proxy/firewall to drop the connection as it does not recognise SMTP command.
The connector has the ability to change the way the sent messages are uploaded to the server. This is achieved by adding a registry key and changing the upload method to issue an IMAP "APPEND" command instead of the custom SMTP command. Please see the steps below:
